Accountant

We are looking for an accountant that is more than a number cruncher. We are seeking a candidate that is a self-starter, problem solver, has the technical accounting skills and embraces new technology to serve tech startups and marketing agencies. In addition, this candidate with work directly with the firm owner to improve processes and work on educational content for companies.

Duties

• Prepare client month-end GAAP financials statements, including reconciling bank, credit card, A/P, and A/R accounts
• Maintain depreciation, prepaid expense and deferred revenue accounts
• Pay client vendor bills and send out client customer invoices
• Manage the 1099 and W9 process
• Ensure all monthly client accounting files are being completed timely

Requirements

• BS/BA in accounting
• Minimum 5 years of accounting
• Experience working with QBO and/or XERO and ability to learn new accounting technology tools
• Detail oriented, organized and timely responses to client requests
• Outstanding communication skills
• Demonstrated experience working on multiple clients
• Demonstrated experience advising clients on financial results, including KPIs
• Dedicated home office workspace

Nice to have

Not required, but nice to have for cloud accountant:

• CPA
• QBO Certification
• XERO Certification
• Several years of experience working with accounting apps that connected to QBO and XERO
