Payroll Services
Professional payroll processing for Chicago businesses
Did you know that small business owners spend an average of 10 hours a month performing payroll functions? That’s more than 12 full days a year. Time spent processing payroll is time you could be spending with customers, managing your team, or focusing on revenue-generating activities.
We manage the entire payroll process from wage calculations, tax withholding, direct deposits, and tax filings to year-end forms. You review and approve, we take care of the rest. Your employees get paid accurately and on time and you stay compliant with federal, state, and local tax rules.

What’s included in our payroll services
Many business owners start by running payroll themselves – until they realize how time-consuming it is and how easy it is to make costly mistakes. Payroll tax rules change constantly, and a missed deposit or misclassified employee can lead to penalties and back taxes.

Payroll processing
Each pay period, we calculate wages, apply all withholdings, deduct benefits and retirement contributions, and process direct deposits or checks. Employees receive electronic pay stubs automatically and can view pay history online. Most payrolls run from submission to payment in 2–3 business days.
Tax compliance and year-end filing
We file and pay all payroll taxes – federal, state, and local – on schedule. Quarterly and annual returns are submitted automatically, and W-2s and 1099s are prepared by January 31. If a tax notice ever arrives, we review and take care of the response.
Your payroll integrates seamlessly with your bookkeeping and accounting systems, ensuring accurate financial reports and eliminating duplicate data entry. Most clients spend less than 30 minutes per pay period on payroll after outsourcing to us.
Additional payroll services
We handle everything from wage calculation to tax filing:
- Online employee access to paystubs, pay history, and tax forms

- Administration of medical insurance, HSA, FSA, IRA, and 401(k) plans
- Workers’ compensation setup and coordination

Payroll resources and FAQs
We handle every payroll tax requirement, from calculation to filing, so nothing slips through the cracks. For each paycheck, we calculate federal income tax, FICA, state withholding, and any local taxes. Deposits are made on the correct schedule: some within one to two days, others monthly. We also file all quarterly returns, including Form 941 for federal and the required state filings. By January 31, your W-2s and 1099s are ready for distribution. Because our bookkeeping and payroll systems are fully integrated, payroll taxes flow automatically into your financial statements. You’ll see accurate tax liabilities on your balance sheet and the right expense allocations on your profit and loss report, without extra data entry or reconciliation.
Outsourcing your payroll processing allows you to hold off on hiring payroll staff as you grow. Processing payroll for 5 employees takes almost as much time as processing for 50 – the setup, reconciliation, and filing don’t scale efficiently. Internal payroll means dedicating someone’s time every pay period and training them on compliance changes. When you outsource, adding employees doesn’t change your process. Your management team focuses on growth while we scale payroll services automatically. Most growing companies find outsourcing costs less than hiring dedicated payroll staff.
Start with compliance capabilities. Can they handle your specific situation – multiple states, contractors, industry requirements? Do they integrate with QuickBooks or whatever accounting software you use? When you call with a question, do they answer? Then look at the fee structure. What’s included in the monthly fee? What costs extra? Get references from businesses similar to yours.
CPA firms offer an advantage: we understand both payroll compliance and tax strategy. Your payroll connects to your tax planning. Year-end processing flows into tax preparation. When you have questions about how compensation decisions affect taxes, we answer from experience. We’re not just processing paychecks, we’re part of your complete financial team.
We handle all payroll tax compliance: calculation, withholding, deposits, and filings. Every paycheck includes correct federal, state, and local withholding. Tax deposits happen on schedule. Quarterly and annual returns get filed on time. W-2s and 1099s go out by January 31.
The CPA difference shows up in integration. We coordinate payroll with your business tax planning. If you’re considering profit distributions vs. W-2 compensation, we calculate the tax impact. If you’re setting up a 401(k), we build it into payroll correctly. When we prepare your business tax return, payroll information is already complete and accurate.
Payroll connects to your other financial decisions. Having CPAs handle it means those connections happen automatically.
